Sponsored Walk
Your child will receive a sponsored walk form home this evening. The sponsored walk is an annual fundraiser for the school. This year we are hoping to raise money for extra English readers for every class in the school. The walk will take place on Thursday 28th of September. The walk will start at 1.30pm. Junior and Senior Infants can come along if accompanied by their parents and the older classes will go with their teacher. Parents in other classes are welcome to come along. The readers we buy will help to build emergent readers skill and concepts and already have been a great success in the school. The walk is always great fun and fits in to our active schools theme. Please return your form and money to your child’s teacher. We also hope to raise our Gaelbhratach – our Irish Language flag on this day which celbrates all our efforts and achievements in the Irish language at Lucan East.

The last day that pupil Insurance money will be accepted is MONDAY 25th SEPTEMBER. Many thanks to all parents who use the online payment facility. It really relieves the pressure on Lesley in the office. We hope to move to exclusively paying online next year.

Clonburris SDZ
Tomorrow the draft plan for the lands which border the school will be released by South Dublin County Council. A two month consultation period will then follow. The school will be seeking playing fields close by and extra parking facilities to be made available as part of this plan. We ask that parents contact their local representatives to support us in this campaign.
