It has been a great week at LEETNS with lots of activities going on.
Parent Teacher meetings
Parent Teacher meetings take place on Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd of November. Please make sure you have an appointment with your child’s teacher. PT meetings are a great way to sit down with your child’s teacher away from the hectic school day and will give you a great insight into where your child is at.
Peace Proms
5th class are working hard on all the peace proms music. The peace proms is a cross border music event which takes place annually to foster respect and understanding across the whole island. It is always a great event every year and one which the children always look back fondly on.
Book Fair
Many thanks to all who contributed to the book fair. Linda will be purchasing some new books for each class libraries so if you or your child have any suggestions please do not hesitate to contact her at linda@lucaneastet.ie
Head Lice
If you notice that your child has head lice just contact your child’s teacher who will send a message to the class. There is no need to use expensive treatments and if you use the HSE recommended “bug busting” method, all you need is some conditioner and a comb.
Sugar Talk
Sixth class had a very informative talk on the importance of watching their sugar intake.
Peace
The theme of today’s assembly was Peace. We also explored the subject of Dignity and what it meant. There were great performances from France and Cuba classes and we celebrated all the stars of the week and Irish speakers of the week.
Enrolment
We are offering the next round of offers under our old enrolment system and will be making the first offers under the Lucan Common Enrolment system on December 2nd. Parents who wish to enrol for 2018/2019 can bring in their forms every wednesday. The school is part of a common enrolment with:
- Griffeen Valley ETNS
- Adamstown ETNS
- Esker ETNS
Parenting Course
There has been a great turn out each week at our parenting skills course and the participants couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Keep an eye out for when it is happening again if you are interested.
Have a great weekend,
